Major Marine Tours offers world-class wildlife and glacier cruises to two of the most beautiful places in Alaska: Kenai Fjords National Park and Prince William Sound. See towering tidewater glaciers, stunning scenery, and abundant wildlife from our cruises departing from the scenic harbor towns of Seward and Whittier. From family-friendly cruises on large, stable catamarans to full-day small vessel adventure cruises—we have the cruise for you!
Our six cruises from Seward explore the glacier-carved fjords and abundant wildlife of Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park. This area provides some of best whale watching opportunities in Alaska. You may see gray whales, humpback whales, orca whales, fin whales, and minke whales. Many other species of marine mammals and seabirds call these waters home, including Dall’s porpoises, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, sea otters, and puffins. Our cruises into Kenai Fjords National Park take you to tidewater glaciers that flow from the Harding Icefield, a 700 square foot expanse of ice that is the source of the 40 glaciers that carve this ever-changing landscape.
Our cruises into the beautiful Prince William Sound depart from Whittier, a remote town that can only be reached via the Alaska Railroad or toll tunnel. Prince William Sound is known for its calm waters and dense concentrations of glaciers and waterfalls, which you will see on one of our two cruises that explore this area. These cruises spend time in front of towering tidewater glaciers, where you will float among the icebergs and watch for spectacular glacier calving. The waters of Prince William Sound are also home to wildlife including sea otters, harbor seals, seabirds, and occasionally whales.
Most of our cruises feature our famous Alaska salmon and prime rib buffet, freshly prepared and served onboard. Our “cruising restaurant” service maximizes your time on the water, allowing you to enjoy your meal without missing out on any of the sights. Our onboard National Park Rangers and National Forest Rangers provide a detailed narrative of the wildlife, history, and ecology of the area.
